Applying to Ivy League with IB Diploma

Anyone here had any IB diploma experience? I’m in Europe and our school doesn’t offer AP so I will do IB instead. I want to apply to top Universities like MIT for example, do they also accept IB?
I assume the answer is yes  and I have some questions about this:

  1. What score is good enough for application? 40+? 42+? Or it really depends?
  2. Can I convert IB to GPA? Is it very important?
  3. Except IB do I also have to do SAT or ACT? If yes then it’ll be better for me to start preparing earlier.
    Appreciate your help!

Of course

IB scores are just one part of the application. The expectation is your school will send predicted scores

Don’t

IB is not in lieu of SAT. MIT requires SAT. Other colleges are test optional, but a strong SAT can only help.

What grade are you in? Don’t be under the misconception that you need to study for the SAT or ACT for years. If you want to apply to MIT and it’s ilk, then you are far better off maintaining high grades in challenging courses and pursing activities of genuine interest. Test prep is not a quality way to spend time and it doesn’t impress colleges.

Beyond considering what may be required by specific schools, a standardized scoring result can help you suitably match yourself. The colleges to which you apply probably should be different if you were to score, for example, a 1430 on the SAT compared to, say, a 1520.
