Applying to Knox with a low GPA and ACT?

I have a pretty low GPA (2.6) and I am a junior so I can’t really boost it up. I haven’t received my ACT scores yet but I plan on retaking it two more times. If it helps I received a 21 on the practice ACT. Knox is my first choice but I know that my scores are on the lower end of the spectrum. Do you think I can stand a chance? If you were accepted or are attending do you mind telling me your scores when you applied? Would my scores affect the amount of money that I could receive or is it based on need (not counting the merit scholarships)?

Extra

  • Female and i’m also Hispanic

-I plan on majoring in biology and minoring in biochemistry.
  • Clubs (Photography,Service,French,Junior Council.) (Freshmen year :Gay Straight Alliance, Black Student Union)
  • I went through a lot these couple of years and it really impacted my school performance. (i.e depression)

Knox views their applicants holistically so there is always a chance. You should have well written essays and really good letters of recommendation. I also disagree with your statement that you’re a junior and can’t boost your GPA. Work to make it move in an upward trend and that will help a lot also.

Good luck!

Knox is test-optional, so if you think your ACT score is too low, don’t submit it. Most of their students are between 25-30
