Applying to Law School - where should i apply with this profile:

Hi,

I am just wondering what law schools I should apply to and where I have the best possible chances of getting in. i want to go to the best school possible as i hear unemployment rate after graduation is very high. Here is a little about me:

UC Santa Barbara, third year
political science major (debating whether to minor in history)
GPA:3.84 , member of honors program
years of work experience - currently a manager at a large pizza restaurant
Summer internship at AALR law firm (ranked 42 top law firms in california)

i have just begun studying for LSATs, which I will take september of next year. I am hoping for a 160-165.

where do you think i should apply. are schools like UC Berkeley, UCLA, Univ. of Chicago (top 15 schools) stretching it?

Thanks so much!

Your GPA is in range for the very top law schools, but an LSAT score around 160 has the potential to keep you out of the T14 altogether. If you are able to pull that up to or very to near 170, you would open up a lot of options: almost certainly in at UCLA, great chance at Berkeley, and possibly in at Chicago.

Get an LSAT score and then come back. And keep studying, getting to a 170 or above would put you in play for the very best Law schools (Harvard, Columbia, Berkeley, etc.)
