Applying to LSA then transferring

As the title states, I think that my best chance for admission is applying to LSA for computer science then transferring to engineering for either computer science or mechanical engineering, probably mech engineering.

My current ACT is 28 with no studying
I am retaking it in October and expect to get at least a 30. For argument’s sake, lets say I get a 32.
-applying ea so admissions will get the new score before I do

uwGPA: 3.4ish (school is bad with updating gpas. idk why)

-my essays would be great and it would be easier to write about the engineering school

Would I actually be better off applying to lsa then transferring or just straight up applying for mechanical engineering and seeing what happens?

apply to LSA because it’s very easy to transfer into engineering and engineering is much more competitive

If you are female you might want to apply directly to engineering.
