Hi,
I am a senior in high school considering applying to LSE this fall. I just want to know if I have a shot getting in as I have checked out the acceptance rates for most majors and they seen pretty low. I am interested in Economics or possible Mathematics and Economics. I go to a private nyc prep school in the Ivy Prep League. My GPA is about a 3.45. Last year I only took one AP class which was AP Spanish Language and I got a 5 on the AP. I also took a class called Economics and Finance at my school and I really liked it. This year I am taking AP Statistics and AP Calc AB. Over the summer I took a class at Columbia through the school of Continuing Education called Principles of Economics. The class was for 4 credits and I got a 3.3 in the class. I also have a letter of rec from the professor of the class. My standardized test scores are as follows: Sat II (spanish): 710, Sat I: 2200 (780 writing, 680 math, 740 cr), ACT: 33 composite (mostly 34's with a 29 on science and a 10 writing score). I am taking the SAT II in Math 2 and Literature in a couple of weeks. I am also retaking the Sat in november. I just want an idea of where I stand applying to LSE as I really enjoy economics and would love to study there. The other schools I am strongly considering at this point is Georgetown (applying early action) along with a couple of other schools (some safeties, targets, and reaches). I am signed up for an LSE meeting tomorrow in NYC so I want to make sure I am not wasting my time thinking about it.
