I'm pretty nervous about applying. I plan to apply online but I went on a tour last week and they gave us the written application. It doesn't require an essay or even ask for extracurriculars. What's up with that?

Mizzou goes by the numbers. Be happy! You've already done the work of earning those numbers (grades and test scores) and doing extracurricular activities. It's not like you've done nothing. If you're just dying to write an essay, you'll be able to do that if you apply for scholarships, if you satisfy one but not both of the requirements for admission to the honors college, or if you apply for the alumni association scholarship program. But for now, enjoy your freedom to submit an easy application and learn very soon whether you've gotten in. Good luck! (By the way, my S did the paper application, too. He found out that the online version wasn't flexible enough to show all his courses.)

Edit: I thought the application did ask for extracurriculars, but maybe not. My S enclosed a resume, too, just for the heck of it.

Thanks for the reply geezermom. I know you're not an admissions officer, but I was wondering if you could still give me some advice. I got a 29 on the ACT and I have about a 3.3 GPA. The thing that I'm worried about is that I'm in the bottom half of my class, and like you said Mizzou goes by the numbers, so it's kind of a big deal. Do you know if your son has been accepted? Thanks for any advice you can give.

d_galin09,
I'm sure you will be fine with your ACT score:

From Admission requirements:

If your ACT composite score is 24 or higher, or the total of your SAT critical reading and math scores is 1090 or higher, and you have completed the required curriculum, then you meet the requirements for admission to Mizzou.

anyone with an ACT above 24 is automatically in. If you write an essay with your 29, you can most likely get into the honors college
