Applying to multiple colleges in a UC university

For UC’s

if I want to do something along the lines of alternative energies engineering or possibly Comp sci, would I be able to apply to ( i.e say at Berkeley) to both the colleges of natural science, and engineering, bec. I think apllying to just the engineering would be too competitive.

For most of the UC campuses, you are allowed to declare a first-choice major and an alternate on the application. However, for Berkeley, you can only declare one major on the app, so you’ll have to choose.

I don’t know anything about Berkeley’s College of Natural Resources, but engineering in general is infamous for being difficult to get into. So depending on the strength of your credentials, you may or may not be a good candidate for the Engineering College.

If the same major is found in two different colleges of a university, you should compare the curricula from each college, since they may have different prerequisites, requirements, etc.
