I am interested into applying to NYU Stern. I do not fully understand what I read on the school website. I know that NYU allows one type of standardized test to be sufficient for the application but I am not sure if applying to NYU Stern also requires SAT Subject Tests.

applying to Stern only requires the SAT I or the ACT. the SATII’s are completely optional - i got in without sending in SATII’s.

Congrats justspice! Do you mind posting your stats so I can see how I fare with the admitted? My sister attended and graduated NYU Arts and Sciences, would that “legacy” help my chances?

If you choose to send in ACT only, make sure you include the writing section.

leswisstrawberry - your options for to meet testing requirements are:

Just the SAT

Just the ACT (with writing)

Just 3 Subject Tests (one in literature or the humanities, one in math or science, and one non-language of your choice)

Just 3 AP scores earned prior to your senior year (one in literature or the humanities, one in math or science, and one non-language of your choice)

As long as you fulfill any ONE of the FOUR options above, you meet the basic testing requirements for Stern. Good luck! :)

What about their SAT score policy? Can I send scores from multiple sittings and NYU will take the highest to superscore? I will double check on the website.

Yes, I’m pretty sure they superscore.

do they consider SAT writing scores then? if they do, do they place equal weigh as math and CR sections? cause on wikipedia, it says it doesn’t, so how reliable is that?

When NYU asks for SAT I scores as one of the options, they obviously are including the writing section/ all 3 sections. Keep in mind they asked for ACT with writing and SAT I and ACT scores are comparable in meeting admission requirements for standardized test scores.

It appears Wikipedia is off if it cited writing as not necessary for SAT I requirements in NYU admissions.
