Applying to Ohio State

I am a student in Steubenville, Ohio and I am thinking about applying to OSU but I am scared of getting turned down. I have an ACT score of 25 and a 3.1 GPA but I take all college classes and we do not weight classes at my high school. I will graduate with 30 college credits and I play baseball and am in key club but besides that I am not very involved in the community. Someone told me that if I apply early admission and since I am from Ohio that I will be like to get in. What are my chances?

If you look at the Common Data Set http://oaa.osu.edu/irp/publisher_surveys/2011_Columbus_Campus_CDS.pdf</a> you’ll see that scores and GPA are very important. Your ACT is <25%ile and, while the CDS does not show the GPA breakout, it does state 54% were in the top 10% of their HS and 89% were in the top quarter. tOSU is a reach. You might want to look at some of the other state schools. What do you want to study?

You probably won’t be able to get in as a freshman, but you’d get in very easily as a transfer. Go to community college or one of the OSU branch campuses for a year and then apply as a transfer.

There is no Early Admission at Ohio State. However, through rolling admissions, the earlier you apply the more likely you are to get in.
