Applying to Oxford

I'm currently ending my sophomore year, and I want to apply to Oxford for medicine, but am a little confused about the requirements. I am in the IB programme at my high school, but unfortunately my schedule does not allow me to take IB Chemistry HL and IB Biology/Physics/Math HL. My school requires us to take IB History HL and IB English HL, which sucks. (Requirements: http://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate_courses/courses/medicine/medicine_entrance.html)

Can I take AP Chemistry, and maybe even take the Chemistry Subject Test? Will this plan meet the requirements?

I will be taking the IB Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Statistics, and AP Calculus BC (already took AB) exams. I'll probably take the Chemistry and Biology subject tests as well.

I think as long as you have AP or IB for each of the required subject you’ll be fine. It might be worth contacting them if you’re unsure about the requirements though

You should note that there are special regulations governing admission to read medicine. In practice, it is extraordinarily rare for someone from overseas to be admitted to read medicine as the government “caps” the number of spots. You should contact the Tutor for Admission at your preferred universities and seek advice.
