Can someone answer this question ^?

I’ve heard yes and no’s. I want to know what the real answer is so that I can decide whether or not I should apply to PLME asap.

Merci Beaucoup, Monsieurs~

I also want to apply for PLME, but I will sacrifice applying to PLME to get into Brown.

it doesn’t I know people who have gotten into Brown even though they were rejected from plme.

You might as well take the chance

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/brown-university/761807-post-your-stats-if-you-applied-plme-program-please.html?highlight=brown+2390+plme#post1063102141

Of course there have been people who have been accepted into Brown after being rejected from PLME, but it seems like a lot less people get in if they get rejected from PLME.

I believe it hurts your chances to get in early decision if you fill in the option in the early decision application that says you do not want to be bound to Brown if you are not accepted into PLME. If that box is filled it seemed (from responses on CC) unusual to be accepted to Brown early and not to PLME. However, if you checked the box that said you were willing to be bound to Brown even if not accepted PLME, I don’t think PLME effects your chances at getting into Brown early. My D applied early and indicated she would go to Brown even if not accepted into PLME. she got into Brown early, was deferred by PLME and then accepted into PLME in the Spring.

eagerdad, wow… so is your D doing PLME? Can she do the PLME?

yes; my daughter is doing plme and will be freshman this year.

If you don’t mind me asking, what were her EC’s?

Daughter’s Ec’s included a lot of public service duirng school years at high school; summers included public service trip to Viet Nam; medical volunteer in Bolivia; research at major hospital. (also varsity softball)

What are the usual stats for getting into the plme program. What are the chances of two kids getting in from the same school with very similar transcripts (grades, sports)? What do they look for?

please read many previous threads that address this. (one thing that is looked for are students who can handle self directed study!)
The general answer: there are not specific “stats” but can tell you generally “high everything!”
