Applying to Postgraduate Economics Programs--confused

Hi!

I graduated from the London School of Economics with a BSc Economics degree. The degree itself is pretty highly ranked however I was not able to do well owing to the teaching methodology (100% grades based on year end exams). There is no ongoing assessment etc. I ended up with a 2.2 (lower second).
(Just to mention that the econ program at LSE is one of the toughest in the UK. Exams are tougher, course work is more difficult and general competition is high as well)

However, I have been able to score good GRE Scores and are as follows:
Quant : 800
Verbal: 750
Analytical: 5.0/6.0

My academic performance before this mess up was pretty good as well. I had 4 A's at A-levels and 9 A's at O Levels.

I am confident that I will be able to get good references and write decent essays etc. Given the above, is there any point in applying to some of the top schools?

Thank you in advance for your advice!

High School student, so not a lot of experience… but most schools here require a 3.0/4.0 to even consider graduate school anywhere.

BTW, in the US you’re looking at Graduate Economic programs, not Postgraduate.

Good luck :)
