applying to Ross. common app help please

Hi, so I'm applying EA to Michigan with preferred for Ross. I'm filling out my common app but a bunch of questions have come up.

1)I apply to LSA, correct?

2) What do I put for intended area of study, since the drop down list does not have business?

3)I heard there's an additional application I'd need to submit in January if I get in early to get into Ross. Is this true?

Please respond ASAP. I would like to submit tonight if possible. Thanks in advance! :)

Additionally, how competitive is Ross preferred admissions? What kind of stats should I have if I want to have a fairly good chance of acceptance? (Anyone know the admit rate?)

that’s what i did

i left it empty (which is listed as an option) and just hit Ross on the following tab

i havent heard anything about that

it’s extremely competitive with a % i think sub-20. the stats can be found on the website. I have a question for you, however. Did you write your essay about Ross or LSA?

1) You can basically select anything you want, that’s not too important.

2) Not sure, maybe there’s finance or something like that you can select

3) Not for high school applicants, that’s for current UM students. All you have to do is select that you want to be considered pre-admit for Ross.

Thanks guys!

Like you @ArKhAiK, I don’t know whether to write about LSA or Ross.

I wrote specifically about Ross and U of M as a whole. I didn’t make any mention of LSA b/c I thought it silly to write about a school I didn’t want to be in.

Ok, I’ll do the same. Gracias ;)

Why ask a question to students when the university provides you with official answers?

http://www.bus.umich.edu/Admissions/BBA/BBA_Class_Profiles_2011.pdf

Because I didn’t see that at first. Why not ask a few simple questions if you can get the answers you need from helpful people who wouldn’t answer if they didn’t want to help in the first place?

We all want to help, but always try to get official information first. Most major programs and universities have details on admissions statistics. The information you will get from posters will generally be flawed or outdated.
