Applying to same college two years in a row

Does it look bad?

I'm going to be done with all of my general ed classes by Fall 2012, but will be missing some lower division major courses. I was thinking I might apply to two of my colleges for Fall 2012, but if I don't get in, spend another year at my community college and re-apply for Fall 2013.

If I do this, am I going to get dinged the second time around?

If it matters the schools in question would be Humboldt State and CSUMB.

People do this all the time. Don’t worry about it.

Definitely doesn’t look bad. Not sure about how much Humboldt State and CSUMB care about yield, but I would think applying a second time would actually be a positive thing- it shows a lot of interest and commitment to the school.
