Applying to some Catholic schools, is it important to do well in my religion classes?

<p>I am a Junior in h.s. and will be applying to some Catholic universities in the fall. I am interested in Boston College, Villanova and possibly Fordham. I attend a Catholic school and religion is mandatory all four years. So, I was wondering how much do they weigh my grades in those classes. I have a cumulative GPA of a 95.4 in all my religion classes. They aren't BS classes either, but not really as academic as lets say history. Anyway, will catholic universities look at this favorably or will it not really matter?</p>

<p>It will not matter. (LOL, unless you tell them you're planning on becoming a priest right after college. JK!)</p>

<p>There are a lot of schools that are "Catholic" but have absolutely no Catholic rules/ policies/ leaning, and there are schools that are genuinely Catholic. For the genuinely Catholic ones, you should be putting in a good showing in your religion classes, to show effort and interest. A 95 is fine. The only problem I would anticipate is if you were doing absolutely horrendously in religion. </p>

<p>My school also requires religion; I will have taken OT Suvery, NT Survey, Church History and Doctrine, and Theology and the Christian Life when I graduate. :)</p>

<p>a 95 is fine i think for religion. Yeah, religion does take some effort but its pretty much an easy A+ at my school. I will have taken intro to catholicism, hebrew scripture, new testament, morality/social justice, christian lifestyles and faith in the media.</p>

<p>hmm religion classes at my catholic hs are a joke.. all we do is go into our little chapel and like meditate and talk in a giant circle lol</p>
