Applying to Summer Session increases chances of being accepted?

Ok, so I'm not sure whether or not I should check the box for being interested/considered into applying for Summer Session if they aren't able to offer me admission for the Fall semester. I've read around, and many people have said that we should check the box off because it would show them just how interested we are in it, and that can be a good outlook.

If we do check it, will we have to attend and will it be mandatory? What happens if we check it, don't get offered for Fall admission but do get offered for Summer admission, but just don't want to go there then?

Thanks

no one is obligated to accept an offer of admission from PSU. The application process is non binding, unlike early decision which does bind you to attend the university if accepted. I do not believe PSU offers early decision as an option.

summer is a good option for many. it really depends on you and how much you want to go to psu.

Summer doesn't increase chances of being accepted.

Applying for summer does help according to many prior posts on this website. Call PSU admissions for an authoritative answer as my opinion is based solely on anecdotal "evidence".

I asked them about this a month or so ago.

"It does not matter whether you choose the Fall semester or the summer session. There is no advantage to one over the other; you need to determine what is best for you."

I can testify that if you choose to do summer session, you won't regret it. Awesome time to meet people and there are some pretty good parties.

Applied to both, I probably would do whichever to go there. Does applying undecided improve chances? I've heard it does.
