Applying to the Ohio State University.. Chance Me.. Please!

<p>Hi Everyone! </p>

<p>I'm Currently A Junior in High School and I plan on applying to the Ohio State University. My grades are not the best, but I wondered if Extracurriculars and Letters of Recommendation would help. </p>

<p>I am in-state and live in Toledo, Ohio</p>

<p>My mother and father never finished high school. First Generation Student. </p>

<p>GPA- 3.0</p>

<p>ACT Score- 18. I plan to retake it. </p>

<p>Extracurriculars- Debate Team, Committee Co-Chair in Student Council, Academic Chair in Student African American Brotherhood, Service Learning Research Project for the Congressional Academy for Students of American History and Civics Education, Internship with a Congresswoman. Wrestled for 2 years. </p>

<p>Also, worked as a Congressional Page apart of the United States House of Representatives Page Program. </p>

<p>I plan to receive Letters of Recommendation from my Principle, a Congresswoman, and a Local Politician. (Maybe a few from Teachers). </p>

<p>I Plan to Major in Political Science and Minor in either Economics or International Relations.</p>

<p>I think you will have to raise your ACT score a bit, have you tried the SAT. If you really want Ohio State: Columbus try to raise your score and apply. Another option is to apply to a different campus like Ohio State: Newark where you should be in-range and then transfer from there to Columbus after a few semesters, but I think if you raise your standardized scores abit you have a good shot. As a junior you have plenty of time to study maybe try sparknotes SAT or ACt guide over the summer a bit and you can probably boost your score by a good amount</p>
