applying to the UK

I am applying in schools in several universities in the US for the fall of 2011, but I am interested in applying in the UK, just to keep my options open.
I am doing the SAT I and II in November. My question is, can i apply to schools in the UK (im thinking st. andrews, warwick, LSE, Leeds) with my SAT scores?
I know they use A-Levels in the UK but I dont seem to find a place where you can register and take them here in China (im studying mandarin in shanghai until december). I registered for the SATs but they only have them in HK, not in mainland china?
So what can I do to apply in the UK?? What do I need?
I am applying as an international undergraduate
Thankss

I’m not sure about those schools you listed, but I think some schools will accept SAT scores. More equivalent to A-Levels are AP and IB. If you can take those in China, that would probably be preferable.

Research the universities you are interested in: check their websites, and if there is no info then email them.

If it really is impossible to take AP or IB, they probably will still let you apply if you have strong SAT scores!

For aught I know, Cambridge and Oxford don’t accept SAT scores. And I doubt that such elite schools as LSE&Warwick will accept SATs.
Shanghai has many great international schools which offer A-Level courses and tests. You may contact school counselors and see if they could let you take A-Level tests at their schools. (Usually, however, these schools don’t accept test registrations of students from other schools)
I have a little confusion about this sentence :

Do you mean that you are an undergraduate already? trying to transfer to UK/US colleges? Then I don’t see that SATs can help in applying to British universities. (Maybe for US colleges) You’d better email admission officers, as suggested by peachaso.

I would suggest checking with each single university you are interested in, to see if you can use the SATs.

Cambridge:

Oxford:

@equillibrium: I wonder if you could provide dicrect links? How very strange! Last year I was trying to apply to Cambridge and Oxford, but my school counselor said that I could not apply to the two because I had no A-Levels&IELTS.

Sure, dawncoming:

These are so called ‘international qualifications’ for specific countries, but in most of the cases they can be used by citizens of other countries if they do not have A level offerings.
