Hi everyone, I will be applying this upcoming week for CSUF, CSULA, and possible Cal Poly Pomona.
My major is Marketing/Marketing Management and I wanted to know if anyone had advice. My counselor at my CC has told me that CSUF is a good school for business and wanted to know what everyone thinks. He also told me that CSULA should be my last resort and I am really hopefully CSUF. I am hoping with the classes I am taking right now, it will help boost my GPA a bit if I do well in the classes.I will be graduating with an Associates in Spring 2017.
As a transfer student, does my GPA seem competitive enough for CSUF? My counselor has told me it is a great GPA, but it scares me cause I did bad in HS and got rejected to the schools I apply to. I got my grades straight and worked hard here at my CC and I think I am just scared of getting rejected again.
Current GPA: 3.54
Thanks to those who read/respond to this!
Don’t be scared, your GPA is awesome! I just got into CSUF for the Spring of 2017.
Major: Sociology
Transfer GPA: 3.045
I initially applied to transfer from Cerritos College in May of 2015 to attend a 4 year university that Fall. I like you was completely freaking out. I ended up getting into 3 of the 4 schools I applied to CSUMB, HSU, and my last resort was Dominguez Hills just because of the transfer guarantee program. I also applied to San Marcos but they are so impacted that they are, or were, only accepting San Diego residents that semester. I ended up moving to Northern California to attend HSU.
Anyway I took this semester off for health reasons, and am heading back to Southern California in December (Yay!). I could only apply to CSUF, and CSULB for the Spring, and have gotten into CSUF, and like you I have been flipping out thinking I won’t get in anywhere.
Long story not so short, have faith you will probably get in & worse case senerio you will definitley get in to CSULA! You are amazing! Good luck!
Thanks for the motivation and making me believe in myself! I just finished applying today for CSUF, now I just have to wait patiently. Congrats on being accepted to to CSUF!
