Applying to U of T, but..

Hi there,

I'm from Brazil and I will be applying to U of T via the OUAC 105F this year, and I really want to clear up some doubts about the whole process.

Firstly, what to choose in the "program choices" area? I'm interested in majoring in business administration, but they seem to have all kinds of different names for it...Rotman Commerce; Management (including Economics) (non co-op); Co-op Management (including Economics) and Co-op Management/International Business. In my country all we have is a single major!

Then comes scores and transcripts. I'm required to take the SAT equivalent back here..which is the ENEM exam. How do i submit my scores after i receive them? How about school GPA? Is it a separate process from the OUAC website?

After i click submit and pay the fees, what will happen?

Also, what are the deadlines? It says March 1st on U of T website..but that's quite..distant, isn't it? I mean, universities in the US generally ask you to send everything by December!

Thanks!

Co-op. just to clarify, is when you work for a couple of months at a time and then attend school for a couple months at a time. So don’t choose that unless that’s what you want. I can’t find the Management (including economics) degree, but the Rotman Commerce looks like it could be what you’re looking for. The SAT has a way that it sends the scores to the school. I don’t know about the ENEM, do they have a way to send your scores automatically?

For me, my school will send my “official transcripts” if I go in and ask. Is there a way for you to do anything like that?

After you submit the application will go to the university, and they will review it as soon as you submit your transcript and exam scores.

The final deadline IS March 1st, but it is strongly suggested that you submit your application and supplementary information by early January, as soon after your first set of grades for the year are done.

Sorry I couldn’t be more help, the whole process is kind of confusing. Might I suggest emailing the admissions office to ask them about the SAT and asking your school (a college counselor or something?) about your transcript.

Thanks! :D

I think co-op is not what i have in mind.

i think ENEM does not send scores :/…they have a system for our universities, where you can choose based on how much you scored on the test versus other applicants. But you do get printed results via mail…maybe i can send them that?

I’m pretty sure my high school can send them my transcripts, if that’s how it works…so this is fine.

I think i can have everything ready by early jan (ENEM score plus my hs grades)…but which grades count towards my application? senior year?.. senior+junior years?

Also, how hard is to get into U of T?.. i can get into good schools here, but i don’t how how competitive i am on a different system

I went to Toronto in Jun/July…it was a great place…had the chance to see University college and plenty other stuff around town…

Forget co-op, man.

Rotman Commerce is the marquee business degree from the University of Toronto.

Canadian economics degrees don’t hold much weight and, I believe, co-op is on sister campuses. Not the main campus - St. George. Regardless, Rotman Commerce is what you’d be gunning for if you wanted the best business programme at the University of Toronto.

The programme is in a 1 + 3 format. Your first year you have to prove yourself, so to speak. As long as you meet the grade requirements you’re in - nothing too hard.

Good luck.

But how hard is it to get in, Topiary?
I see people everywhere talking about EC’s and stuff…i dont have any of these  …all i have are my HS grades, plus my TOEFL and ENEM grades. Makes me feel like I wouldn’t stand a chance at all

I always thought that ECs didn’t count for very much at UofT…
