Applying to UC from Out-of-State??? HELP!

I recently applied for transfer to UC for the Fall 2010 semester. I'm new to this site, I just have general questions about what my chances may be for getting accepted to the UC schools I applied to. (UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UCD, UCSB, UCR, UCB). I currently attend a 4-year university, I am a sophomore right now at Ferris State University. What do the UC schools look for in a transfer applicant from out of state? as in what gpa do they look for? what extra curricular activities? etc.

What’s your major and GPA?

My major here at Ferris State is Applied Biology looking to go into Medicine/Ophthalmology…my cumulative university GPA right now is 2.97…and I think thats unweighted, idk the difference, after I retake a course this spring, my GPA should go up, I basically didnt do good in one course (Gen Chem 2) and I got A’s and B’s this semester…Also idk how UC calculates their GPA’s, but here a B+ is a 3.3…does the UC system go by that? If not then my GPA should be higher than that 2.97…

Well after doing a quick check on statfinder ([University of California: StatFinder](http://statfinder.ucop.edu/)), it looks like nobody got accepted in 2008 at UCB or UCLA with your stats (out of state, biological+biomedical sciences, ~3.0 GPA).

You can figure out your chances at the other schools by creating a custom table.

oh hey thanks! yeah i figured my chances were slim to none at UCB and UCLA considering they are the most competitive…i was shooting more for irvine and san diego, thanks for the help!
