What are the chances of getting into UCLA Math/Econ if you were to choose it as a backup major (I'm a TAP/Honors student) but have 3 prereqs missing for that major? Specifically Calculus 3, C++ Programming, and Differential Equations. i'm applying as Bus Econ for my first choice major and I MIGHT take Linear Algebra while taking Calc 2 for this purpose. Say if my GPA were to drop down to ~3.7-3.8 by the time I applied, what would be my chances of getting into Math/Econ as a backup major?

I got into UCLA this year with a 3.87 GPA missing Differential Equations and Discrete Math. You should be in good shape, Math/Econ is unimpacted and even missing a pre-req or two it is still very reasonable to graduate in 2 years.

Biz econ is the toughest econ major to get in. Personally I would avoid it unless you want to be an accountant, basically its economics + accounting + a few management courses. You could choose some acconting courses at your own discretion if you went regular econ. I believe another poster Super Ramga, appealed for math econ missing two prerequisites with a 3.8 was accepted. Try and get calc 3 finished asap
