Applying to UCLA, UCI, UCSD and UCB. Terrible Marks in 9th Grade?

OOS here.

In 9th grade, I attended an incredibly difficult school in a rural area and I did not get the best of grades(although I was top of the class and did not slack off), so I'm wondering, how would they view my 9th grade transcript? Am I allowed to not report my 9th grade year at all?

To put things into perspective:

I have a 4.38 W UC GPA without 9th grade

and a 3.8 W UC GPA including 9th grade.

What's the correct course of action?

Thanks in advance!

Calculate your UC GPA: <a href=“GPA Calculator for the University of California – RogerHub”>http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/</a>
UC GPA does not include 9th grade, only 10-11th Yeah!!! So what are your test scores and EC’s???

They see all your grades so, it could keep you out of the top UCs. Assuming competitive test scores, etc. you’ve got a solid shot everywhere but UCB and UCLA.
Good luck,

@Gumbymom Test scores: hitting 2000 on practice tests right now and have a really strong list of ECs

@NCalRent The school was incredibly tough though, and I was top of the class with those terrible grades, so literally they were the highest there was. I don’t think it’s fair that they are taken into consideration.

It’s a random unknown school in a random place in a random country, is removing it a possibility?

P.S. I’m an international student.

You cannot tamper with any of your transcripts. If you are showing an upward trend in your grades, that will be looked upon favorably. All you can do is apply and hope for the best. Most schools are forgiving with Freshman grades, as long as your Sophomore and Junior year look good.

Can you afford the California State schools? You’ll be full fee.
