Applying to UCLA with ACT

I am a Junior in CA and I still have not taken SAT/SATII/ACT
Im leaving it all for Senior Year.
When I took a practice SAT, I got a 1800 which is horrible. I HATED it. But when I took a practice ACT I actually did well (30). Note that I had not actually prepared for either exam.

So my question is:
Can I get into UCLA (undergrad) if I only submit ACT scores w/ writing + SATII??? Or will they see me as lazy for not taking SAT? I am going to study really well over the summer to get my ACT score up. I am aiming at a 32-33.

Also, I am hoping to take Math II and English as my subject tests in October as well.

Please. Any comment will help.

If it makes a difference, I am in the top 10% (not top 5%) of my class. I go to a top public high school. My weighed GPA (now) is a 4.057

Thank You

My son was admitted to UCLA and didn’t take the SAT. CA public HS. Had a 34 ACT, three SAT 2s around 700 (don’t remember which) and UC GPA of just over 4.0. Uncapped it was 4.45.

To be honest, the UC system says that they take the ACT but in my honest opinion, you’d have to score pretty high on the ACT to get it looked at by UC’s the same. I have a friend who got a 31 on his ACTs who did not get into UCLA.

I don’t know, but I’d take the SAT in case. Maybe you don’t have to send it.

It would be very unwise to NOT take both simply because you might do better on the SAT. They are different tests. However, they view both equally and you won’t be penalized for submitting only the ACT in substitution for the SAT I (aside from the “what if” scenarios of scoring well on the SAT)

i had 32 ACT and got in. didn’t have much else either.

SAT and ACT are viewed equally. I applied with only an ACT score.
