Applying to UC's

<p>Hi everyone!
Well i am planning on applying to the UC's(UCB, UCLA, UCSD, USI) for the fall 2013 semester.
I am an international student and I have completed my O levels(6A*s, 1A and 1B).
I am in the middle of my A levels with forecast results of(A-physics, A-chem, A-math, B-further math)
I am still awaiting my SAT scores but they should be up to the mark.
I read on the UCSD site that an additional language besides english is required to apply.
I have never taken an additional language so would this greatly diminish my chances of getting into any of the UC's?exactly how important is this requirement?
My main goal is to get into UCLA or UCB.
Advice would be much appreciated!thank you.=)</p>

There are various ways to fulfill that requirement listed there and on [University</a> of California - Language other than English (“e”)](<a href=“http://www.ucop.edu/agguide/a-g-requirements/e-language/index.html]University”>http://www.ucop.edu/agguide/a-g-requirements/e-language/index.html) .</p>
