@cowycam7, I’m sorry I can’t help you. I’m “just” a mom who became curious after giving some thought concerning the timing of merit Scholarships and Ross pre-admit decisions. Then when @billcsho shared that they’re school-specific and not transferable I thought clarification might help others in the future.
Wow, it’s disheartening to read something that contradicts what someone in the Ross administration told us. Actually two people… one in LSA regarding pre-admits, and one in Ross. We are out of state. Happy my son was accepted but not at all happy to hear that what I was told was wrong, if indeed there was no need component at all. Because it made sense, especially coming right from the mouth of the LSA scholarship person and later, the Ross person. (Although the Ross person said what they give beginning sophomore year, it’s need AND merit based.)
For most, if not all, program/major specific scholarships that are for sophomore and up, there is a need component in it. For most freshmen merit scholarships, there is no need component in it.
