Applying to Undergraduate program at Ivy league schools

Dear All,
I have been attending Universitas Indonesia for 6 months now, and planning to apply to ivy league schools as a freshmen for the next fall. Am I eligible to apply as a freshmen?

Have you completed your courses? How many credits do you have?
You need to email each university and state how many classes you’ve taken and will have credit for, then ask whether you’d be considered a freshman.

The IL is an athletic conference, their admissions policies are not uniform, you need to check the website of each school as they vary.

What matters in determining if you apply as a fr or transfer is how much post-HS college you will have when you matriculate, not when you apply. So are you now stopping post-HS college with 6 mo completed, or are you continuing and planning to finish an academic year of post-HS college coursework?

Thank you for responses
Sorry for late reply :)

I’ve completed 20 units so far, and get credit for it.
I’m planning to finish an academic year rather than stopping it because, you know, admissions competition is very tough, mainly for International, and I think my chance of being admitted is really low. I’m afraid that I won’t be admitted.
I have been reading admissions requirements for some IL Universities. Princeton said that I’m not allowed to apply anymore as I have been matriculated in university. Others said that, If I have completed 1 year by the time of applying, I’m only allowed to apply through Transfer program. But, I’ve assumption in my mind that If I choose to apply to transfer program, It’ll be more tough than freshmen pool and If I’m admitted, I’m not sure about the way I can transfer my credit since courses in my current university isn’t in US college system/ Internationalized.
I really want to study in some prestigious University in the US.

If, say , I’m intending to apply through transfer program, what is the chance of student from University that has different system with some universities in US for being admitted? How is my chance if i get good score in GRE Physics to show my qualification ?

Admission to selective colleges are always more difficult for Intl. applicants, fr or transfer. The GRE is not going to make a difference for UG admissions.

If you want to ask for Chances, please do so only on the What are My Chances? forum.

Some Ivy league schools said in their websites that the only eligible students to apply through transfer are students who have enrolled in Liberal Arts College.
Since I’m not eligible for transfer (Universitas Indonesia isn’t Liberal Arts college), May I just apply as a freshman?

I have NEVER seen ANY school say this. Please provide a link and citation.

<a href=“Transfer Applicants | Harvard”>https://college.harvard.edu/admissions/application-process/transferring-harvard-college/transfer-eligibility

At the last point,they said

Students are eligible to transfer only from a liberal arts curriculum that is similar to Harvard’s. Candidates whose education has been in a vocational, professional, technical, online, extension, or performance program will not ordinarily qualify for transfer admission.

Liberal arts curriculum =/= Liberal Arts College.

LACs are only ONE type of school that provides a liberal arts curriculum. A liberal arts curriculum is provided at any CC, or 4 yr public or private college that is not exclusively vocational/professional/technical/etc. So if a college is for training auto mechanics, medical technicians, etc., then it does not have a liberal arts curriculum. But if it has coursework in the sciences, humanities and social sciences, then it does have a liberal arts curriculum.

Oh I get it.
Thanks

Hi!! ^^
I’m an Indonesian who lives in USA now.
I’m still a high school student, but I think you should just transfer your credits instead of applying as a freshman.
You should consider some other top-tier colleges such as, Washington University in St. Louis, Vanderbilt, Johns Hopkins, and others. Anyway, I hope you are able to transfer those credits.

Thank you tnynglx
btw, what univ. do you wanna go ?

I am still not sure. It depends on my test scores  but I would love to go to WashU.
