I'm thinking about applying to University of Waterloo's accounting program in Ontario. I'm aware that Waterloo is very competitive (I heard that the majority of the accounting students at Waterloo are Asian. Lol).

According to the website I need: Grade 12 English with a minimum final grade of 80%. Final overall GPA of 3.3. All applicants must complete the Accounting and Financial Management Admissions Assignment: AFM - Admissions. (I have both requirements. I have a 3.6)

The minimum ACT comprehensive score is normally 26 for all faculties. Please note that the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Environment require a minimum score of 26 on the English component. (The highest score I got the ACT was a 22.)

But I was wondering about legacies or past alumni. Both of my parents were alumni at University of Waterloo and donated a small amount of money to the university. I'm also a Canadian native, who now resides in the the US.

I was wondering if having both parents of alumni will drastically improve my chances of getting in? I thought most children of alumni usually got into the university. What are my chances of getting into the University of Waterloo.

I'm also thinking about applying to Wilfrid Laurier University too. They require a 24 ACT instead of 26 at U of W.
