Roger:
I'm going to say this first, since you're only entering junior year you should wait until next spring to start making final plans about college admissions. However, if you are like me, I knew I wanted to go to Yale since as long as I can remember. As such, since you asked I am going to evaluate your information. Keeping in mind that what I say could be the complete opposite of what an admissions officer thinks. Continuing, you have a strong courseload with multiple AP courses in sophomore year, since you have a larger amount of As than Bs I would say you are fine in the GPA and class rank department. I noticed you haven't taken the SATs or PSATs which will give me a better picture of your current status as a student. Still, looking at your courseload and your success in only 10th grade I am confident you can get a decent SAT score. I don't understand how you have to take an honors course simultaneously with an AP but that's with your school, just excel in all of them. By taking initiative to self-study for AP you're demonstrating a passion for education, I'm hoping that you're doing it advancing yourself not impressing admissions officers. I hate to say it but your math isn't as advanced as many Yale applicants, most might have seen AP Calc BC in their junior year. No problems though. But ultimately what might thwart your chances is your weak ECs, you show nothing outside of sports which is great but you need that extra academic EC (NHS doesn't count). Wow, I've written a lot. All I can say is that you are on a steady track for fall of your senior year and you have a lot of time to reflect and and improve. I'm not going to say Yale is a reach for you, because there just isn't enough info, however, all I can say is that you have the potentially to be a solid candidate for Yale SCEA not ED, I hate when people mix them up. Best of luck.

My PSATS project my fSATs to be around 1560 on the old scale

AS for my academic EC...what do you think if i join the math team instead of key club-or in addition to key club and FCA??
As for my sports, my times in cross country are very advanced and are very close to what collegge kids are running at yale these days...
Thanks for your response, u have me a little worried about the math part, but i believe my love for learing and need to excel will get me where the lord wants me
God Bless,
Rog

why do you take the same course as AP and honors?

Don't feel worried about the math part, I made that point just to show where weakness does exist in your portfolio, keeping in mind that you still have time to improve. I would only suggest joining the math club if and only if you have the time to make a major contribution if not you are okay since you have outstanding cross country times (perhaps you could e-mail a coach at Yale) improve that and it might lead to a hook.

The first half of the year tits labeled as an honorscourse-and then the second half its labeled as the AP course-its got something to do with weighting ad stuff

ALrightthanks for all your advice/feedback
After looking at it all, what would you say my chances are overall?
Thanks again,God bless,
Rog
