Applying twice? (ED and regular)

If you apply ED and they reject you, can you apply again in the spring?

nope. most applicants are deferred, though. if you are deferred you can reapply.

you don't need to reapply if you are deferred. you will automatically be reconsidered in the RD pool.

To elaborate a bit... If you apply ED, you will either be accepted, denied, or deferred. If accepted, then good. If denied, then you can not normally reapply for at least a year. If deferred, then you will automatically be reconsidered during RD.

The true meaning of being deferred varies from college to college. Typically, deferred candidates in RD have an advantage since they showed so much interest in the college. Othertimes, deferred candidates are at a disadvantage since they weren't accepted during ED and things only get harder during RD.

Some colleges such as Northwestern do not defer during RD, and you are either accepted or denied.
