Applying Undecided for Econ

I'm planning on majoring in econ at CAS but I'm not sure if I should apply undecided or with econ as a committed major.

Is econ a major that a lot of people apply for? Would I have a better chance getting into NYU undecided or committed to econ? Thanks.

For CAS, my advisor said something about how putting down a major in the application didn't really do anything for or against you... for example I put down journalism and it's still in my student profile but it can be changed anytime.

I do know quite a bit of people who are thinking econ as a major though.

I'm applying for economics to CAS too. I didn't think that a lot of people would apply to CAS fro econ- i thought stern would be preferable.
Doesn't matter I guess.
