Applying Undecided

I am honestly not sure whether I will want to pursue an A.B. or a B.S.E. degree. I am considering applying undecided and marking the two computer science degrees as my top two program choices. Will this negatively impact my applications? Also, which degree tends to have higher acceptance rates?

Admissions officers recognize that students often transition between BSE and AB degrees, particularly in the case of computer science. Really, the only impact it will have is on which department your freshman advisor will be from–not on acceptance rate. (Because so many students make the move from BSE to AB or, albeit less commonly, from AB to BSE, the admissions officers don’t confer an advantage to either applicant.)
