I've been having this quirky feeling ever since I checked undecided on my application. I'm not totally confused, just torn between like 3 and don't really understand the concept or minors/double. I was wondering if it would hurt my chances. I applied undecided to Arts and Sciences and was trying to reconcile an interest in math, history, and english. trying to keep doors open for business and law school My essays kind of hint towards different interest areas but I was wondering if I should suck it up and pick a major and send it in or something. Thanks for any help!

I applied to Cornell undecided last year. It didn't affect me negatively because I was admitted. I'm sure that the admissions officers will understand if you're undecided.

it is perfectly acceptable to be undecided. Many, many students, especially in CAS, apply undecided. The average college student changes majors something like 3-5 times. Having 3 strong interests is, if anything, a boon rather than a curse.

Being undecided will NOT hurt your chances.

REALYY!!! wow...so just because i have posters of Electrical Engineering ROCKS, KICKS and SWIMS! i might actually not end up doing it!!!

It means somebody will change his major 6-8 times.

i think that stat is overstated, it seems to high to me, but who knows, i'm just a frosh! maybe it was 2-3 times lol

perhaps they include thinking about changing the major.

haha, i thought about that a few times lol

Thanks, I feel much better!

I think undesided is the most popular major for incoming freshman to CAS, don't worry.
