Does it help you get in when the program you want to go to (in a specific school) is very competitive?

For example i want to apply to Babson (Doing Finance) but if i apply undecided does it give me a better shot at just getting into the school?

Then i can transfer later into the b-school or decide later on.

Or does it look bad?

It doesn't look bad, nor does it look good. It's kind of a myth that you have a better chance at getting in if you do undecided. It's just....a major....that's not a major. kinda. sorta. haha

Usually schools are aware of applicants trying to "back-door" their way into the school. It'd be worth looking into how difficult it is to enter the business school later on. For instance, at Penn, an internal transfer to Wharton (i.e. from the College or SEAS) is very difficult, as the required GPA is around 3.8.
