I'm from Malaysia - and I've read in the NYU page that SPM (our finishing school exam) is needed.

Problem is, usually U.S. colleges close early decision in Oct/Nov and regular in January, but we only take SPM in November and we get the results in either February or March.

I was wondering if we could apply with the forecast then send in the real results when we get it because I've read somewhere (can't remember) if the results of the real exam isn't out yet a forecast one should be sent - and later the real one, naturally.

I don't want to waste a year and going into college late.

waleedk87- the predicted grades (well we'll have to take a mock exam to get it) are usually known to be accurate and the mock is actually harder than the real thing - i agree on that.

karan89- I send in other exams + predicted grades, but I do send in the real grades later on, right?

well the thing is that firstly, mocks happen in april here (and in a lot of a level schools) so they dont decide your exam grade. It is based on the teacher's opinion and that is usually an overestimate here. Actually , according to wikipedia, 58 % of forecast grades in the UK are overestimates .. its usually higher in places like pakistan because your teachers know how hard it is to get in with aid and limited options you have for going abroad.
