Bottom line, I’m taking the SAT IIs in January for some other top schools (MIT, Carnegie Mellon, RPI), and apparently that is too late for Stanford (unless someone can correct me).
I know they’re not required, but how much of a disadvantage am I at right now? I currently have a 2120 SAT super score, 3.97 UW, 4.47 W, 13/484 class rank (top 2%). I also own and run a business, play football and tutor kids in APCS and math.
Any hope for me?
I know someone who is currently a junior at Stanford. He got in with a 31 ACT and no SAT subject tests.
@Darknis133 So I guess it can be done. Unfortunately, I am applying for the CS dept and/or EE, which, if I’m not mistaken, is the most competitive.
I suppose your comment also confirms that they will not take January tests correct?
He’s in his junior year at Stanford. His major is something engineering, not sure what exactly, he didn’t have to officially declare until this year. He’s also a white male, but legacy.
Well then there is still hope. Thank you. Does legacy impact an applicant much?
Was just admitted with a 32 ACT with one SAT II (Math). Good luck!
@GoodNapkin Congrats I have a chance. What major?
@orjioke33 Thank you! I plan on majoring in Computer Science.
Legacy applicants have a 15-20% acceptance rate compared to the overall 5%.
