ApplyTexas Topic B

The prompt is:
Choose an issue of importance to you—the issue could be personal, school related, local, political, or international in scope—and write an essay in which you explain the significance of that issue to yourself, your family, your community, or your generation.

So I was wondering: would writing about the need for goal-line technology in soccer be a serious enough topic? Or are they looking for essays about more important social issues such as poverty and homosexuality?

Thanks in advance for any help!

They say the issue could be personal. If the topic has affected you in some way that would help. Just be sure that the essay is about you and why you believe this instead of a persuasive essay.

Thanks. Any other opinions?
