By the way, momoftwins--I'm going to Prom with a guy from Illinois who's going to USMA this year. He went for a year of prep school on the AOG scholarship at Marion Military Institute. Do you happen to know a guy named Joe Doyle?

No, we haven't met him yet but might at some of the activities coming up. The Illinois Parents' Club is hosting an event in early June for new cadets to get to meet each other.

Last week a congressman from another part of the state had a reception for the Chicago area appointees and we met several who have already accepted. He graduated from WP and was in town for Founders' Day activities. There were also 2 who accepted USMAPS. Two current cadets from our area as well as some alumni along with admissions folks gave presentations.

Enjoy wearing that prom dress! I think you'll be in uniform for future formal events.

Actually, correction on #5 on mine. I'll be staying at West Point on June 26th with a Lt. Colonel and his family--they're actually going to be my sponsor family as well. I stayed with them for a night while on my Candidate Visit last week, and I just loved them to death. I met them because they were the cadet's sponsor family that lives down the street from me--I had never met them before, but they let me stay with their family! The coolest part about this is that the Lt. Colonel is going to come and find me and check on me periodically during Beast--that should be interesting!
