Hey guys. I was wandering, on the site online application. My Appointment Status is “Appointment Offered.” What does this mean? Does this mean they are offering me an appointment? I have yet to receive anything in the mail, though this update has happened recently. Or does this mean I just got my nomination?

Sounds like you have an offer of admission. What kind of nomination did you have?

My son is in the same boat as penQuinz -- he has an appointment offer persuant to the web site but hasn't received anything in the mail yet. My son has a Presidential nomination.

Your both in. Same happened to son last year. WEb was before the mail -- quite a few weeks before! Congratulations!!

Same thing happened with me. However, when it said appointment offered the next day i received the packet in the mail

Ohhh. Cool. I got a nomination from my congressman. Weird. I thought my file wouldn't even be looked at, considering I am "Potentially Commission Qualified." (I have glasses, you see.) Yay. I'll be poking my nose in my mailbox everyday now.

PCQ is certainly good enough. Congratulations!

Congratulations. See yall in only a few months. ;)

The admission counselor said they are behind on the packages because some materials were dated. Should be there soon....

ya thats what I was figuring as well. B/c just yesterday It said Letter of assurance online, but nothing yet in the mail. but HURRAH im in :)

Out of curiosity, GreatAmerican and cdk0089, recieve anything in the mail yet?

^^^^^
Yes. My son received his appointment package in yesterday's mail. The letter was dated 18 December 2006. :) :)

The snow storms in Colorado are probably slowing the mail deliveries.

Today I finally recieved my LOA, so the only thing I have left is my official nomination. But from what I have gathered, once you recieve your LOA then your basically a lock. My board should be calling me any day now, since the two weeks since the interview was today. So I just have to wait for my Congressman to give me a call. :) . Then I'm official :)

Congratulations to all of you.

-B

Wahoo. Mail came today. Got it!!

Was it a nice blue leather folder with certificate and letter inside?

yesss. white/blue folder saying "offer of appointment" on it. also came with other things, such as the 'academy experience class of 2011' and info on appointee orientation in april.

Lucky indeed...Daughter is still waiting. She got a black one for West Point, but that is third choice. Funny, that was the last application she had complete and the first offfer of Appointment. Navy seems to be moving, but she really wants USAFA. Keep the fingers crossed.

Did anyone receive travel information? It said it was encolsed, but I didn't see anything.

No travel information here, either, and I got my appointment package almost a month ago. At least I now know that I am not the only one who did not recieve such information, unless that is part of the accept/decline form, the part that asks how you plan to arrive on I Day.
