The "big" envelope came today! I called dd at State swimming finals and sang her Semper Paratus. How is she ever going to decide????

Congratulations Heatrcross! That is amazing :). Where all is your dd deciding from?

She has appointments to AFA, USNA and now CGA. She also received her scholarship notice from Hillsdale today and she has an NROTC scholarship to Embry-Riddle. SHe's headed out to Annapolis this week for a CVW. I don't know if she's going to be able to visit CGA again--she can't keep missing her calculus class at the college...

Very nice. I have a similar situation to hers, but my choices are USMA, AFA, and CGA. Does she want to be a pilot, or what is she looking to do?

Congrads! What an accomplishment/honor to get appointments to all those fine institutions!

Congrats to dd and yourself HC! She will have a tough decision to make in the coming months(if not weeks). Great news!

congrats

a candidate in my area recieved his alternate letter yesterday, and you recieved yours today.... im gonna be anxious to get the mail today!

When does your mail come? Keeping fingers crossed for you!

you will see when i make a thread ;) i wont hijack this one anymore

(got the mail, no word...)

It definitely deserves its own thread! Guess we'll have to wait until Monday--oh wait--you'll have to wait until Tuesday--not fair!

Not to throw cold water but my ds didnt hear until like March 27th! So it could be soon or later. Good luck either way!

do i have to get dodmerb approved before they send me their decision, or is that separate? i spent all day at travis afb yesterday just to get a 2 second back xray, and i have to go back in a week to pick up the results (the place is 2 hrs away).

Yes you will have to be approved by Dodmerb first.

Well, dd got her appt to AFA w/o her DoDMERB being cleared (though it cleared the next week--she had an LOA. Her Navy appt didn't happen until her DoDMERB cleared--she had an LOA. I don't know about CGA! I think everything has to be cleared... They did ask my dd to take all sorts of measurements--waist, hips, wrist etc. and then suggested she retake the CFA. She didn't get to it--just too much time at the pool, so she didn't have a coach that could schedule it. Plus, I don't know where she would have run--we have 3 feet of snow on the ground. I guess they decided they didn't need it after all. I was surprised to see the packet today--I thought they weren't going out until mid-March too.

CGA is strict because the color blindness thing caused a lot of kids to be DQ'ed last year even after being appointed. I don't think they want that to happen again.

SWEET! Congrats Heartcross! Some heavy decisions to make now. Is she leaning a certain way yet? You hang tight Taffy. We'll all be checking everyday that mail runs to see if you've heard.

Don't forget Monday is a federal holiday.

ok heres how it worked:

i took my dodmerb thing

found out i was DQ for asthma

got waiver from cga for asthma

then dodmerb requested info on curvature of the spine.

i was never DQed for the spine thing, and the only thing i was DQed for, I was waivered for.... soooo....

I think this means I will be medically qualified in like 6 weeks cause i have to get this xray thing sent in.

heartcross,

Congratulations to your daughter!! She's been on track for this kind of success for a long time. I just wish she had applied to West Point, too. The appointments are great news and I have to tell you that I absolutely love Hillsdale. It's an amazing academic environment.

She actually started an app to WP. And her MALO ended up being the Plebe roommate of a fellow that went to high school with my dh--small world. She decided she needed to narrow it down or she'd go bananas...

Hillsdale is a great place. I know it takes a lot of heat and joshing on CC, but my oldest dd is thriving there. Dd (with the appointments) would have been happy there too. She took several overseas classes with them--really great experiences.

Taffy--hang in there--we'll have a great virtual party when the news comes!
