Appointments for college students

Does anyone have any idea when to be expecting appointments to be coming out for college students. I would imagine hearing something the end of next week if we are accepted in the first batch of admissions right? I am on the west coast so i m expecting to have to wait a little longer for any mail to get to me.

For Ealy action it was Dec 15th. For Reg Admissions I would guess anywhere b/t now and April.

Hardball they usually start in late January but could go through May. Good luck. BTW Montana is an underrepresented state so you could be a shoo-in! :D

do you happen to know florida's representation?

Florida Prob gets more rep then other states. It's Mostly the states that are not as popular. Mostly the middle states.

There are lots of kids from Florida. I would guess they are in the top five of states repped. Connecticut, MA, NJ, California, Florida if I had to stick out my pencil-like neck... :D :D

Yeah god I hope so. I applied to the USAFA last year but didn't get in due to a low act English. (it was a 22) the res were great 29 math and science and 33 reading. But as some of you know I'm sure that the minimums are 24 for English and reading and 25 for math and science. They actually tried to get me to enlist and do it that was as most of their slots go unfilled. i actually went through MEPS and during my baseball season I got a scholarship to play at a JUCO in Washington. (Gray's Harbor CC) IN Aberdeen. Anyways both parents are military and dad is retired veteran with 8 yrs active in the CG. So when I got back out here instead of reapplying for the USAFA I decided to opt for the USCGA just because i remembered how much i loved the coast. I actually forgot it being in MT. Not that Montana isn't one of the most beautiful places ever its just different. So point being I am on the edge of my seat hoping for an appointment :):):)

Interesting story. Good luck and I hope you get one. The CGA is at a beautiful location and you will surely see lots of the coasts...ha ha

Have you been in touch with the baseball coach? CC Grant, good guy.

Yes I actually have that was one of the first things I did actually. I filled out his questionarre but I don't expect too much from him because he's never really seen me play so until i get a chance to showcase a lil I'm not gonna stress. But from the questionarre said and stuff I should be in the recruiting pool just from the questionarre correct?

Yes. College coaches rarely see a kid live. They rely on your stats, coach's recommendation, news clips, questionnaire. Bottom line is the CGA coach can help your application if he thinks your a good prospect for his team. Send him an email indicating your ongoing interest.

Thank you I definately will. I'm hoping the fact that I am playing Junior College ball in the NWAACC will help. We are a wood bat league so its very competitive.
JD

Yep. As your season progresses let the coach know of your accomplishments. He can do a lot for you and if he wants you for the team you will be in good shape. Every bit helps.

So a slight setback today. I got Dq'd last year due to a hernia as well. Well i got that fixed and sent in the paperwork to DoDMERB and they decided to not process it after I talked to them and sent it in. I have been waiting for a follow up exam from my surgery well they are just now reviewing my surgery so i can get a follow up. I am hoping to go get my followup by early next week at the absolute latest. Anyways how much does it effect my file when they won't send it for review until i get my DoDMERB stuff or are they just telling me they don't review it till they know i am eligible. I want my file in for review as much as possible.

They will continue to review it. Many kids get "conditional" appointments pending final DodMerb approval. Keep plugging away!

Got cleared yesterday for my hernia. Now all I have left is to go and do a Remedial blood sugar test next week and DoDMERB is taken care of. Great to have most of it out of the way. Does anyone know how long it will take for the CGA to get my new DoDMERB Status?

They told me by Feb.

Congrats hardball! It should be a couple weeks at most. Good luck and keep us informed. If you guys get in I am coming to R-day for sure!

Thanks Boss. I hope to see you too!

My son is trying to get first phase cadre duty which would include R-day. If he is I will surely be there!
