Appointments

Taffy congratulations and I second LFWB :)

Too bad you did not have the opportunity to visit KP...

best of luck with your decision.

MOT, Whooooo meeeee??? I have no wily ways. :) Taffy is meant to be pulled. Pun intended. ;)

I AGREE! Grad school at Davis boy! You'll look too good in dress whites this next year. Hey, The Jamz accepted his appointment sight unseen.

Hello, while I am not privy to the inner workings of the Admissions Office at Kings Point, my son's application was completed in November 2005 when he received a Congressional nomination. At that point his candidate log-in page was updated to "hold" status, which is where it stayed until early March when he was offered an appointment. Being from New Jersey, which traditionally sends a goodly number of students to Kings Point, he had a certain amount of waiting to do until the geographical distribution of candidates was under control. All of our dealings with them were managed through his high school admissions counselor. Best of luck to all of you seeking admission.

WDNJ....CONGRATULATIONS to your son on his appointment!!!!!

If you live in south NJ you'll belong to the tri-state parents assoc....so welcome aboard :)

WDNJ, I add congrats too! Has he accepted his appointment? That had to be a tough thing to wait out. Tell him the most important thing is: GO KP BEAT COAST GUARD!

Rants? Will your son wrestle or swim or try a new sport?

Yes, my son has accepted his appointment and he is looking forward to reporting on July 6. He is busy conditioning and so forth to get ready for the challenges ahead. We have been in touch with the Tri-State Parents Association; they seem to be well organized. His sport at KP will be sailing. Best wishes for the upcoming year, WDNJ

WDNJ, I'm smiling here. YAY! Another guy to sail for us and beat Coast Guard. (I gotta a little competive nature with a good coastie pal on here) ;)

Your parents club is so great. Really awesome people. Enjoy your son these next few months. I say that tongue in cheek knowing full well that you will. Do you have plans to go with him when he reports or to parent's week-end? Hate to be 'nibby' but I sure hope you can make it. Especially parent's week-end. Those kids blew us away.

Again, big congrats to you & your family.

Yes, we will be there for the bbq on July 5 and to deliver him into the hands of Kings Point on July 6. We are squared away for Parents Weekend, the only question mark is KP hosts a two day Laser regatta and if our son is sailing it will cut into his time away ("where did you put my surfboard?").

yea laser regatta....ive heard that plebes on the team run the regatta...ive also heard that they sail the regatta....will i have time with my family or will i be sailing lasers....also is there a radial class?

also...coast gaurd isnt that hard to beat...their ranking is really bad....beat saint marrys.....i have a friend who sails for them...lol
