<p>My son didn't get accepted for summer seminar either and he now has an appointment. We were told after wards that the reason was his SAT scores didn't get routed to them correctly. But his PSAT scores did and they don't count supposedly. He did go to CVW though.</p>
<p>rmoorenc, Actually, I think they use the PSAT scores more for SS simply because most students haven't taken the SAT yet when they apply. I distinctly remember there being a designated spot for PSAT scores on the online app. Oh well, it doesn't matter now that he has his appointment. :)</p>

<p>Although my husband tells me LOA's are received by recruited candidates, such as (primarily) athletes, we are both new to all the jargon and the TLA's(three letter acronyms), but I don't think this is what you're referring to: we did get a short congratulatory letter from our Congressman informing us of the appointment a week or so before the official letter came from the Academy. Since the letter from the Academy was in a THIN regular-sized white envelope, if it hadn't been for the heads-up by the Congressman, we'd have been afraid to open it, fearing the worst. <p>My son did not get a thin regular size envelope. His was a thick square envelope which has his appointment letter, brochure, dental record request, background check request, acceptance form and return envelope.</p>
<p>Some appointment folders are not sent directly to the candidate--they get sent to the BGO who then presents it to the candidate, hence the difference in the way some apppointtees got their paperwork.</p>

<p>Yep, she got her medical waiver a couple of weeks ago. USNA never responded to phone calls about her waiver but DODMERB kept on top of it for her and called a couple of weeks ago to let her know the waiver was granted.</p>
