Apppropiate Clothes Shops Megathread

As I was scrolling through the massive list of different prep school attire questions I thought to make a megathread of all of the shops that you or your children frequently shop at.
I’m not sure if this is going to work but I’m willing to give it a try. Tell me if I do anything wrong or if I had a similar idea to someone else

THE FORMAT:

(Copy and paste the response before you and add your own in alphabetical order)

Shop name - What you should buy there (e.g sweaters and shoes) ~ Personal comments

We have a Megathread? This is exciting!

TJ Max, Marshalls or Home Goods for bedding and towels. They have a great selection of Twin XL ( or Twin- please check which size you’ll need ) mid-summer but beware :You’ll be Hunger Games shopping with the college crowd. Highly recommend Ralph Lauren sheets. Not for the label … but for durability. You can drag these sheets and comforters behind your car and they’ll only get softer and better overtime. For girls ( who like pink ) these stores also carry Lilly Pulitzer bedding . If you snooze and lose… Macy’s online is a great fallback and usually has some great sales, too. Towels ( RL ) are amazing, too- they last forever ( K2 still has his from JBS ) and they can be found at these stores, too.

Get a nice mattress pad unless you want to wake up every morning in agony. Foam, down… whatever suits you best.

Shop for your winter clothes NOW. North Face, Patagonia, LL Bean and all the other usual suspects are having some fantastic sales for almost everything you need.

FYI- If you want Bean boots for next year you will need to order them now because I can almost guarantee they’ll be backordered in August. Remember: Many of these stores have outlets, too… and it’s always great to checkout what they have or call if you can’t find what you need in the catalog or online.

@PhotographerMom Thanks for your contribution. Definitely gonna go bed shopping now! I’ll just reformat this post so we don’t have that beautiful block of text:

Bed Bath & Beyond - I used my stack of accumulated 20% off coupons last summer to get DS’s mattress cover, sheets, comforter, pillows and towels.

CLOTHES SECTION

J. Crew/J. Crew Factory - I buy pretty much everything non-athletic for DS here, other than blazers: khakis (in multiple colors); polo shirts; shirts; ties. J. Crew Factory has great deals.

Land’s End - Wrinkle-free dress shirts. DS has told me multiple times how much he likes these shirts.

Macy’s - We’ve had good luck with young mens’ blazers. I’ve already bought him the same nice blue blazer twice, in successive sizes, both times at 1/3 the marked price.

North Face - almost everything you need
Patagonia - almost everything you need ~ Buy your winter clothes NOW though

I’m going to break the rules and just post that today is Amazon Prime Day. I’m not a Prime member, but what this means to me is that many competitors are offering bargain basement pricing through tomorrow (7/17) to compete.

Macy’s is my store of choice and I just got a steal on bedding. 2 sets of Charter Club sheets, a nice, lightweight comforter, feather mattress topper and mattress pad for $200 and free shipping. High quality brand names for all at the best prices of the year.

I’m sure there are other bargains to be had by Macy’s and other retailers for the next 24 hours. Shop away and find the deals!
