Approach for Applying to College

So this summer, I've been traveling a lot, so I pretty much have been working on my college apps "on the fly" (pun not intended..). Within the past month, I drafted my Common App Essay a few times, came up with more essay ideas, narrowed my major down somewhat (2 or 3 choices), and briefly scanned random tips, school websites, and the CommonApp website.

So pretty much, I consider my progression quite slow, and I'm really afraid of falling behind.

Anyways, my question is, is there a general, organized, and efficient approach to applying to schools (and that includes choosing schools)?

Thanks a lot!

You are ahead of like, 90% of the rising seniors in this country. having personal statements drafted is great! just don’t lose momentum or get burned out. I’d suggest getting a spreadsheet or document started with your list, key stats for each school, key deadlines, and their respective supplement questions so you can have that always open and be just chipping away when an idea strikes you. Keep ALL your writing!
