I'm just looking for opinions on the list of schools I plan on applying to. I've pretty much finalized my list, and I think I have a good mix of match, reach, and safety schools. But based on test scores, gpa, and ec's could I get some opinions on whether I'm on target or not?

GPA
freshman and sophomore year- 3.8 UW 4.2 W
junior- 4.0 UW 4.5 W

pretty much the hardest courseload available. I took 2 out of the 3 AP classes available and I self studied for 2 other AP tests.

I'm retaking both for a higher score.
EC's is probably were I shine the most. I have leadership positions and I'm heavily involved with my school. My essays will hopefully be very good and my recs will be excellent. I don't have a ton of volunteer hours, but I take care of my grandfather and I'm planning on mentioning that.

Reach schools:
Bates College
Bryn Mawr College
Villanova University

Match schools:
American University
Holy Cross
Mount Holyoke
Smith College
Fordham University

Safety:
Saint Joseph's University (PA)
Wilkes University

I didn't put this in the chances thread because I'm not asking for what my chances are, just if my what I consider my match and reach schools are appropriate considering my scores and grades.

i mean the problem with CC is that, other than the mod's, nobody can say anything for certain

but to me those look like appropriate categorizations

by comparing your GPA to your standardized test scores it seems as though your HS is not very rigorous, but at the same time you have excelled there (i assume your rank if pretty high)

so i think those are appropriate estimations

I think Holy Cross should be considered a slight reach...just because of the small size of the school. I think it is harder to get in there then Villanova. Stats have to be relatively the same I think.

Holy Cross is definitely harder to get into than Villanova due to its small size unless you are an athlete they need since Holy Cross sponsors 27 varsity sports which compete at the NCAA Division I level (I-AA for football). I think they are the smallest college in the country with this many varsity Division 1 sports.
