are tennis shoes or skateboarding shoes sufficient for going to school in Boston? the reason i ask is because i am going there tomorrow... thanks

Regular skate shoes are okay for visits, but if you're going to attend a school in Boston (like BU which is huge) I'd recommend investing in some real athletic walking shoes as well as a good pair of boots for the snow.

RAINBOW SANDALS FTW.

XD just kidding. I'm such a California girl.

I love Adidas...they're super comfy and you can get them in lots of different colors. ^_^

if you're actually in the city you'll be getting around on foot a LOT (because the T only goes so many places). and snowy, slushy, gross winter weather makes up a lot of the year-- actually, we're expecting a big ol' snowstorm on friday night if you're still here. waterproof boots are a necessity, i'd think sneakers are fine for the rest of the time, and it gets hot too- some kind of sandal or flip flop that's still OK to walk in would probably be worth buying.
