appropriate to write about charity in resume?

<p>Over the years I participated in fund raisers for homeless elderly and children, and although I never thought about it, my GC wrote a bit about it in her rec, and told me that I should note it in my resume.</p>

<p>Do you think I should? I have been told that these things look good, but I don't really think it's appropriate to brag about it in the resume (especially since I didn't have a big leadership position).
Or is it enough if my GC wrote about it? (as in 1 line in her 2 page rec)</p>

<p>Resumes aren't modesty tests. Put anything truthful on it that may help you gain an advantage.</p>
