Apps for TI-89 Titanium

I am taking AP calculus AB, next year i will take Calculus BC then for my senior year I will take AP stats. I want to know if there is a good place to get Apps. Also I want to know if there is any tips for on downloading Apps or anything. Or if its crucial to back up my files and how I will do that. So if there is any tips you have just say them, because it can only help.

Also should i download games or can that be harmful or something?

PS: Sorry for posting in college when I'm in highschool but i thought since calculus is AP college students might know more

I took AP calc back in the day, (HS class of 2012). I coulnd’t help but answer! There ARE apps/games that you can find online. I don’t know of any specific sites, but they are out there.

Games that I had: Mario (the one for the game boy pocket; only first 3 levels)
Bomber man–AWESOME game
Side scroller airplane game, kinda like Strikers 1945. I think it was called Pheonix.
Tetris
There’s other’s, too, but I think bomber man was my fav!

You can also program your own codes. This kid in my class programmed forumluas for doing volumes and finding max/min values. It was awesome cause you CAN use it on the AP test.

Most of what I got was from my classmates since the teacher had everyone get the TI 89, so we all had the same calc and could easily transfer games/programs.

**I wouldn’t recommend the games if you can’t discipline yourself during class! hahaha

I’d recommend avoiding calculators in learning calculus when possible, other than for arithmetic. The whole point of learning math is so you understand it and can figure out problems on your own, and as you get into more advanced math it usually starts involving less and less pure arithmetic anyway.

Anyway the TI-89 is an excellent calculator and should have all you need as it is, unless you’re doing some kind of lab work that requires a lot of heavy number processing.
