My D took the April SAT and we viewed the online scores today. Her math score is quite a bit lower than she expected. We're considering requesting hand-scoring. Anybody else have a considerably lower-than-expected math score?

Mine was about 20 points off what I expected (740 expected, got a 720), but it was a negligible difference. I expected 2 wrong, 1 omit. I got 3 wrong, 2 omit.

I have a lower-than-expected critical reading score and am considering hand-scoring.

I had no issue with the math (expected 780, got 790), but my CR seems a little low. I also am considering hand scoring because there are a few where I changed my answer, but my eraser did not completely remove the old mark. This makes me paranoid that I perhaps got a lower score than I deserved, but I don't know. How much does hand scoring cost? Then I'll decide if it's worth soothing my paranoia.

considering my inablity at math i never expect anything, but my math score did go down 20 points from the last time (january)

Higher, actually. I thought I bombed it, but I got a (admittedly mediocre by this site's standards) 700. I was surprised at my writing score, though.

I don't think it was a scoring error, though, so I'm not rescoring. Retaking instead.

Does hand scoring cost extra, or does it even matter since I paid the extra 20 to get the test back with explanations?

3 wrong was a 740 -- seems a little low.

My CR score was way lower than expected. I got a 600-- I expected 650+ because I thought CR was very easy. I'm gonna see what part they say I screwed up with (sentence comp vs. passage) and see if I should do handscoring or not.

3 wrong for 740 is not bad at all. In Jan. 2005, 3 wrong was 720, so there should be nothing to complain about.

i went out of the test center thinking i got an 800 on math, and after i checked answers with you guys here, and did not find one that i got wrong.

however, i was very dissapointed to get a 710. either i made many careless mistakes on the really easy ones, or i misbubbled, or collegeboard screwed up. however, 99% chance it was my fault. dissapointing, nonetheless.

Re; April SAT: S's math score was MUCH lower than expected, especially compared to how well he did on the PSAT. He worked hard to prepare, and was very dissapointed.

My April SAT math scores were 60 points lower than from January. :(

I was a little bit surprised by my math score (680)... It says I missed eight, but to be honest, that doesn't seem right...Yeah, I thought the math was surprisingly difficult (harder than the practice tests anyway, the ones i got in the high 700s on...) Still though, I don't remember having much trouble with more than 3 questions.... Although my total score was ok (2170), I'm going to take the SAT again just to raise my math score (assuming it wasn't misgraded).

My math score went up 90 points from last time so I was happy, but I did study like crazy for it.

I got a 710 in math when I was expecting something over 750. But I was expecting a 600-something on CR and I got a 720. I thought it was pretty weird...

Yeah, my math score was also a little lower than I expected. I thought I got one question wrong, but the folks at collegeboard say i got 3 wrong, 0 omit (720)....

By the way, does anybody know what kind of a scale they used for april's math section, and was it better/worse than other months? I'm probably going to retake in June...

I have a thread in the SAT specific forum where I'm compiling the scaling.

I got a question...

On the math section the report says I got 1 question wrong and 4 left blank. In my study book its says this should be a 710. So why do I get a 690??!! its not fair!

chaos 101....by any chance did you test on Sunday? What was your raw score? I got raw score 49 on math which was a 690.By any chance did you test on Sunday?
